Designed and released in the spring of 2001, Blowsion composite stand up side sponsons are race and free ride proven to dramatically improve the handling of both the Kawasaki 750 Sxi and Sxi Pro, as well as all years of the Yamaha Super Jet and FX1. By widening the front hull footprint via a graduated contour design, cornering and stability is increased as well as reduction of chine walk and porpoising. (Thickness of sponsons is a graduated 4-12 mm) Using the front sponsons alone is not advisable for most racing applications, as we have determined through testing that this setup can result in excessive porpoising (without the down-force offered by the hull extensions). However, side sponsons w/o matching hull extensions have been very popular for freestyle and ocean free riding where nose pressure is not a necessity. (Pro Yamaha Freerider Joe Kenney and Pro Kawi Freerider Josh Lustic are currently using Blowsion side sponsons in competition).
Approved by and 100 percent IJSBA Race and Freestyle legal. Detailed mounting instructions included.
NOTE: Beware of unproven under the rail mount designs on the market. The more material you add under the bond line results in less lift due to the fact that you have removed some of the space that water flows thru and under that creates the lift. The potential reason for the "under the rail design was to appease the IJSBA rules at the time concerning 'sponson' mounting being required to attach under and to the bond line. (Majority of sponsons manufactured prior to 2001 were designed only for sit-down PWC------hardly comparable as far as IJSBA rule requirements). As you can understand by the under rail mount design, having a 90-degree addition to the design adds mold and manufacturing costs that are not a performance necessity, or gain at all. The same theory applies to flat Plexiglas panels.
