| April 28, 1999 Hi,
I thought I would write you a note concerning the quality of work with John Dady at
Blowsion Kolors (Oregon, USA).
I visited several helmet painting shops throughout the USA and honestly couldn't find
one that would do the very best work and keep the interior part of the helmet clean and
intact.
I visited John's shop in Portland and found it to be professional, clean, secure, and
wonderful. He had hundreds of photos depicting his work and I actually saw thirty or so
helmets that he had painted. All of them were terrific. I saw no mistakes and discarded
pieces.
John painted two helmets for our Ferrari Club of America events. He sent the jpeg
photos to you. Both of these have caused a minor sensation in our racing circles,
especially when we recently used both of them for a luncheon center piece. It was
impressive!
These helmets were created in a precise manner, with perfect lines and sponsor names.
No stick on labels or letters. Perfect painting! Not a blemish, mistake, or imperfection!
I recommend John's work without reservation. I currently have him doing another one
(ARAI GPX) for the vintage MARCH F2 (1972) that I will be driving this summer. I'll send
you a photo of this wonderful racer when it is completed. We have reconstructed, replaced,
repolished, nickel plated, powder painted, and lacquered the entire chassis, tub, and
engine. We're running a HART 1.6 liter which will be on the dyno next week. We are hopeful
to see 230 HP. With the 5 speed Hewland, it should really move through the US vintage
events. And those helmets that John does for us are simply awesome.
Work out the details with John. You won't be disappointed! One of these days, we'll be
waiting six months for him to do our helmets.
Good luck,
