The "scary" duck and its proponents miss the point of the traditional mascot entirely. In urban settings, there's a game called "The Dozens". I don't know where it got its name but, the object of the game is to out trash-talk your opponent in a clever and humorous way. Here's how this subject would be treated.
Husky fan: Your mascot is a sissy duck!
Duck fan: How would your mascot like to write home to his bitch mother from the hospital...Dear Bitch Mom, I'm in the hospital because a sissy duck put me here!
Your creation would be the perfect Oregon Mascot in Bizarro World.
It is not the job of the mascot to strike fear into the hearts of our opponents. That's the job of the team. The Mascot's job is to appeal to our children and to the us. Your creation is pointedly unappealing. Long live Oregon Duck (unspecified relative of Donald).

I love the new oregon look!!! You did a great job on the helmets, the best
looking in the country! I hope Oregon sticks with them for a while.
Only suggestion, please wear the green pants with the white jersey for away
games. The white pants look terrible with the white jersey. Go Ducks!!!

I was wondering, why the Ducks helmets do not have a picture of the wide
faced crazy duck on the sides and a
smaller UO in the back and on the front
of the helmet, or just in the back?
The O is really gross! Sorry but it
really is. I am very honest and I
think redoing the helmets would be a good
idea. If it is the UofO's choice, then
they really need to rethink their

My name is Kristy Lauzonis and I am a graphic design student at the Savannah
College of Art and Design.
Currently, I am working on a project creating a corporate identity piece for
a fictitious football team. In my research I came across the new helmets
you did in association with Nike for the University of Oregon Ducks.
How much would it cost to get one football helmet painted with the type of
colors that change depending on position of the viewer? I am not sure what
the technical term for this type of paint job is, but it is similar to that of
what you see on classic cars in car shows.
I am also interested in any information you may have on uniform design such
as logo placement, number size, and any
other technical aspects.

Hello,
My name is Joe and I live in Washington St. I saw on your site that you
came up with the color for the University of Oregon's helmets. The question
I have for you is, what color is the U of O helmets? I heard "Mallard Green"
and "Spruce Green". I hope that this is not some top secret color and can
release this information. Also, if I'm not asking too many questions, how
do you get that black look with a bright green that shines in the light? Is that
a type of clear coat that is a darker base? Or is it just because of the helmets
curvature? Thanks for taking your time and reading my questions.
